Refund Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with RootControl. We offer a free trial so you can test every feature before purchasing. Please read this policy before buying.
1. General Policy
Due to the digital nature of software products, all sales are generally final once a license key has been activated. We strongly encourage you to use the free trial to evaluate RootControl before purchasing.
2. When You Are Eligible for a Refund
You may request a refund in the following circumstances:
- Unactivated within 14 days — You have not activated your license key on any machine and submit a refund request within 14 days of your purchase date.
- Material defect — The software contains a material defect that prevents its core functionality from working as described, and Ctrlbus Audio is unable to resolve the issue within a reasonable time after you report it.
- Accidental purchase — Your purchase was made in error and the license key has not been activated.
3. When You Are Not Eligible for a Refund
- Your license key has been activated on any machine
- More than 14 days have passed since your purchase
- You cite incompatibility that the free trial would have revealed
- You changed your mind after activation
- You purchased an upgrade at a discounted price
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email support@ctrlbus.com with:
- Your order number or the email address used at purchase
- The reason for your refund request
- Confirmation that the license key has not been activated (if applicable)
We will review your request and respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear on your original payment method within 5-10 business days.
5. Free Trial
RootControl offers a fully functional free trial with all features enabled. We strongly encourage you to test the plugin in your specific DAW and system configuration before purchasing. The free trial is your best tool to determine compatibility.
6. Technical Support Before Requesting a Refund
If you are experiencing technical issues, please contact support@ctrlbus.com before requesting a refund. Many issues can be resolved quickly and we are committed to making RootControl work for you.
7. Upgrades and Version Updates
Minor updates (bug fixes, patch releases within the same major version) are provided free of charge and are not eligible for refunds. Paid major version upgrades are subject to this refund policy.
